Miss the Cherry Blossoms at the Tea Garden in SF?

If you missed the cherry blossoms in the Japanese Tea Garden at the park in San Francisco, this ought to hold you off until next year.  Enjoy.

Lobster Rolls and Lamb Burgers

Lobster Rolls…. kind of a weird thing to decide to make out of Thomas Keller’s new Ad-Hoc cook book but it just sounded so delicious, how could we not.  The lamb burgers were an afterthought; a ridiculously tasty and incredible afterthought.  Recipes for everything after the jump!

Lunch at Farmstead in St. Helena

Farmstead is a relatively new restaurant in St. Helena right across from Taylor’s Refresher in a huge old barn next to a nursery.  Whew.  It’s a pretty cool spot and the food was hearty and tasty.  Don’t plan on doing much of anything afterwards — all you’ll want to do is lay down and enjoy the feeling of being stuffed.

Crazy Fish Snack – Kinta and Crispy Rice

Crazy Fish is one of my favorite sushi spots on earth.  Don’t go here expecting traditional sushi because you will NOT get it.  Here, they’re all about giant, crispy, spicy, sweet, tangy and delicious rolls.  You have to try the Kinta, filled with spicy tuna, it’s they’re most popular roll.

The Little Next Door – Lil’ French Breakfast

Breakfast has never been more on point.  If you like French food, you know, Croque Monsieurs, lots of ham and poached eggs, this is your place:  The Little Next Door.  I actually got a Croque Madame, lathered with cheese, thinly slice ham and topped with a sunny side up egg, served with a small side salad.

Square One Dining for Brunch

It was my first time at Square One Dining on Fountain in Hollywood right across from the main Scientology Center.  I heard they had thick, juicy bacon.  The rumors are true, except it’s more just huge delicious chunks of pork belly.  I had it in a baked egg frittata with spinach and tomatoes served and most likely cooked in a little iron skillet.  Two thumbs up.
