The Farm at Carneros Inn

The Farm at the Carneros Inn is really delicious.  Peep the menu below for details on each picture.  Craziest thing I ate was limoncello marshmallow (at the bottom).

Gotts Roadside for burgers

Pretty pretty good. I had a regular hamburger. Great taste, perfectly cooked and juicy, good seasoning. This place took over from Taylors Refresher.

Wine Tasting at Quixote

This is my favorite winery in Napa. Its in the Stags Leap district off Silverado and it was designed by Hundertwasser. Their Perite Syrah is legendary and the tour is also great. The place is like a museum too with art everywhere.

Dinner at Tra Vigne in St. Helena

I’ve been going to Tra Vigne with my family for probably 20 years now but this meal was the best one we’ve ever had there.

Lunch at Farmstead in St. Helena

Farmstead is a relatively new restaurant in St. Helena right across from Taylor’s Refresher in a huge old barn next to a nursery.  Whew.  It’s a pretty cool spot and the food was hearty and tasty.  Don’t plan on doing much of anything afterwards — all you’ll want to do is lay down and enjoy the feeling of being stuffed.

A Day in Yountville and Napa: Redd, Bouchon, Quixote…

Some LA friends came up for the weekend and we ventured into Napa and Yountville for some adventure and treats.  We started with lunch at Redd.  We had pork buns (obviously), a grilled chicken something over a fennel puree with brussels sprouts and a foie gras toast, butternut squash ravioli and a hunk of pork belly.  Everything was great except the chicken which was unremarkable and plain.  However, the fennel puree was amazing – something I will attempt to recreate later….
