Poc-Chuc is what you would call Spanish-Mayan Fusion. Okay, I wouldn’t have thought to call it that, but it’s what they call it’s damn good.
I had the namesakes, Poc Chuc, which is slow citrus braised pork served with all the tortillas you can eat, rice, salsas and some pickly looking things. So good.
Next up, we had the black beans with braised pork belly and pork flank and it was also pretty ridiculously flavorful. The hot salsa was so good that my friend got half a quart to go.
Lastly, we had to try the caramel fried banana with vanilla ice cream. It would really have been a mistake to get it. Or it was a mistake to get it. Whatever, it was also delicious. Try this place out! Very reasonable and they’ll probably give you free sides if you ask lots of questions and show interest.
